Suzanne Roshan is the daughter of ex-actor Sanjay Khan and interior designer Zarine Khan, sister of actor Zayed Khan, cousin of actor Fardeen Khan, and wife of Hrithik Roshan. She is of Parsi descent, although her mother converted to Islam during the marriage ceremony. Her family are currently settled in and around Mumbai.

After finishing her schooling in Mumbai, she attended Brooks College in Long Beach, California in 1993 to obtain an Associate of Arts Degree in Interior Design
