Now, I’m more regular. My character in “Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl” demands a good physique and trendy styling,” says Anushka adding quickly, “I tend to lose weight if I’m not working out; if I lose any more weight I’d be anorexic.”

In the movie “Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl”, she has been conned by Ranveer Singh and when she was asked if in real life someone has conned her, the actress replied, “Never! No guy can ever con me; I can never be a victim!”

I don’t fight with anyone as much as I fight with Ranveer: Anushka Sharma

The ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ brought success for Anushka Sharma and the debutant Ranveer Singh alike and the movie also brought the two close together. Anushka recently confessed in her interview with the fashion magazine Verve that she shares a special friendship with Ranveer.

“We have a relationship outside of work. We hang out, go out for dinners and watch films. But we are poles apart as people,” said Anushka adding, “I don’t fight with anyone as much as I fight with him.

Strangely life keeps throwing us together all the time, from being in films to performing at award functions… I feel very protective about him and I am sure he feels that way about me.”

The two will be seen together once again in ‘Ladies V/s Ricky Bahl’ which is set to release in December. The movie has Ranveer playing a con-man who flirts with girls.

Other female stars who will be seen along with Ranveer in this movie include Aditi Sharma, Dipannita Sharma and Priyanka Chopra’s cousin Parineeti Chopra. Parineeti was in the marketing department of Yashraj Films before her ride in Bollywood

Anusha is moving out of YRF

The reason after doing three films with Yash Raj banner - RAB NE BANA DI JODI , BADMAASH COMPANY and BAND BAAJA BAARAAT, Anusha is moving out of the secure environs of YRF with her upcoming film PATIALA HOUSE.

Anushka has her feet firmly placed on the ground and has also managed to find a foothold in B-Town with her three film deal with YRF. Going by this fact, this outing on her own should not be a difficult thing to handle.

But, we have digged out the real story. According to our sources, "Anushka is feeling insecure after venturing out of YRF. Though PATIALA HOUSE might have everything going for it, but the fact that Anushka is without any mentor or the backing of a big banner is clearly visible in the glint of her eyes. No matter how hard she tries to put a brave face, insecurity remains a reality of her present life."

Anushka might be without a godfather in her upcoming film, but the fact that her talent has guided her in the past remains her best bet this time around too.

I am glad that I am known for my talent and not for my clothes or controversies: Anushka Sharma

Anushka Sharma has said she is glad she is known for her talent but has questioned why she gets less hype than other Bollywood actresses. Speaking to the Mumbai Mirror the actress said she does not know why Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor were more famous than her.

“I don’t know. You tell me. Having given three hits back-to-back in three years I wonder why there is not as much hype about me as them,” she said.

Sharma added that she thinks the other leading ladies are less famous for their films than they are for their off-screen activities.

“I am glad that I am known for my talent and not for my clothes or controversies,” she told the paper.

Sharma made her Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in 2008 with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, for which she was nominated for a Filmfare award.

Anushka Sharma scored pretty impressive at the moment

Shahrukh Khan starrer ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ was the introduction vehicle of the feisty performing artist Anushka Sharma. Notwithstanding ‘Rab Ne…’ did for her what ‘Om Shanti Om’ did for Deepika or ‘Dabang’ did for Sonakshi.Anushka got off to a flying start in her very first film that had the stamp of Yash Raj banner and the omnipresence of the King Khan. Anushka, as per reports, had a 3 film contract with the Yash Rajs and even though she may deny this piece of news, there is no denying the fact that her next two releases have come from the same factory.

After the super hit ‘Rab Ne…’ which gave Anushka the platform she needed, she tried to conjure up something special with ‘Badmaash Company’. The film, however, sank and the only thing that got noticed was her yellow sarong and her bed scene with Shahid Kapoor.

But just when the critics were about to write her off, ‘Band Baaja Baraat’ happened and the equations changed. A refreshing take on wedding and romance, Anushka was the only well-known face in the low-hyped film. But despite being a slow-starrer, BBB picked up momentum after being given rave reviews. Anushka’s performance earned her many brownie points.

So, with 2 hits out of 3, her score is pretty impressive at the moment and it is to be seen how the future augurs for her. She shall be next seen in the February release of ‘Patiala House’ opposite actor Akshay Kumar.

Anushka Sharma talks about her upcoming movies

In the last few years, a number of new entrants have managed to create a space for themselves. Post Om Shanti Om, Deepika Padukone has enjoyed the maximum number of releases and hits. Sonam Kapoor too has got a shot in the arm post I Hate Luv Storys, while Kangna’s career has suddenly seen a revival as well with half a dozen new assignments.
However Anushka Sharma, despite a Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi with none other than Shah Rukh Khan behind her, hasn’t quite marched ahead in the race. Does she feel that Bollywood hasn’t quite woken up to her and she is yet to get her due?
“I agree with that. However, this also has a lot to do with the visibility factor. The thing is that I am not very big on PR. I am a little uncomfortable when things are written about me which don’t have much gravity in them. This makes me a no-frills actor since my personal life is not really written about.”
She is hopeful though that things will change for the better in due course of time. She says, “I am sure things will fall in place sooner or later. If your work is not good and you are known only for your public appearances, your market value will eventually die its natural death. This is the reason why I don’t add any frills around me and only allow my body of work reach out to people.”

Given the fact that even top actresses, despite a good body of work, are quite strong when it comes to visibility within and outside the industry, doesn’t Anushka feel that her philosophy is resulting in lesser work than her contemporaries?
“I am not saying that people have not accepted me or are ignoring me. In fact they have been quite nice to me. However, if to get noticed, I have to be spoken about everyday then sorry, that’s not me. This is not the kind of path that I have etched for myself,” concludes Anushka, rather confidently.
